Men's Tactical Research Kiowa

I am currently in Afghanistan and was in need of a new pair of boots. After reading a good number of review I decided to go with the Kiowas because overall they had a really good rating. When I received my boots I found out that they run big (I wear a 10 and these fit like 11) and were fairly stiff. After wearing these boots for about 2 months in Afghanistan they completely broke down. The sides busted out and virtually all of the stitching gave way. I definitely wont be buying these again

Great boots. Won't be dissapointed. No break in period. On par in comfort with the Blackhawk Light Assault boot. Can run in these boots. Laces are long, but you can still tuck. Thick laces, won't break. Comfortable heal to forefoot weight exchange. Suppotive and snug with regular size, while still keeping ample room in the toe box for proper flection of the toes.

I thought I found my ideal boots I but they only lasted six months before the stitching gave out. I could see if I worked in a rock quarry and they were abused but these were used for walking dogs on dirt roads and fields, LOL. These replaced a pair of Rebox sneakers that lasted three years doing the same thing. I thought I was buying a good brand as in Dover,DE near the air base I see the men and women all wearing Belleville. Hard to believe a regular sneaker outlasted a military boot ...

I for many years wore issued boots that sucked. Hard sole, killed your feet. I purchased 2 pair of these prior to going to Afghanistan and the day that I put these on fell in love. They are like wearing a rugged, durable, "house slipper"! It has taken 4 years of daily wear and tear to finally break down the stitching on 1 of the shoes. I have recommended these to many of my brothers in arms and in the civilian competitive shooting community! Everyone loves them! THANK YOU TACTICAL RESEARCH FOR A SUPERB BOOT!

REALLY COMFORTABLE BOOT, WELL MADE AND DURABLE. I NORMALLY TAKE A SIZE 10 BUT ORDERED THESE BOOTS IN A 9.5 AS THEY TEND TO RUN A HALF SIZE LARGE

I work 12 hour shifts, half of that is on my feet, standing on black top. These boots really helped with fatigue and little pains that come with age. I have had them for just over a year, they are now starting to wear out. Ordering my new pair today. I had minimal break in, no irritation anywhere (half the time I wear ankle socks), they do tend to be warm, but I'm in 100 degree, 100% humidity, standing on black top, flip flops aren't very cool either. Would recommend to anybody. hope this helps.

I got these boots just prior to deploying to Iraq from an Army surplus store. I have been wearing them for 2 months now and the soles are starting to peel apart. The manufacture warranty is for a year, so will hopefully be able to return them as I do not see it as regular wear and tear. The fit is very comfortable, but almost seems as if your heel is lower than the ball of your foot. Definitely fits different than any other boot I have worn. I usually alternate boots every other day, so a different fit is sometimes nice.

Overall - Good boot, but doesn't breathe very well. I just bought a pair of the Kiowa's (sage green) because they looked comfortable and the reviews seemed fairly positive. My overall opinion so far is that it is a good boot. I agree with some other comments that they are warmer than average boots. The photos don't show it, but the interior is lined with a kind of gortex. This makes the boot pretty toasty on a summer day like today. Even though the exterior photos show areas of nylon canvas (which appear breathable) the interior cloth lining prevents easy air flow. Some others have commented that there was no break in period. Granted, they are not like the old style all-leather marching boot, but there is still some break in. The leather is stiff and there are some hot spots on my ankle and heel. I'm sure it will go away in a few days, though. So far, I think I've made a good investment. Some have commented about the seams coming apart. The stitching looks pretty solid, but I'll have to give it a few months to determine how well they hold up. I wear a 10.5 and the fit is pretty good. One last note, the photos make the top edge of the boot appear as though it's made from padded vinyl. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it NOT - it's actually the same nylon canvas that is on the side of the boot. Whew!

Have had these for 7 months, they are very light and comfortable, A little warm though. At about the 7 month mark the seems on sides started coming undone. I walk in crushed gravel daily, maybe that cut the threads, maybe it didnt, I dont know. If you do get a pair, go ahead and buy you some laces, the included laces are fat and short. I am buying a second pair to replace the first, I think they are worth the money. My son had a pair when he went to Air Born School, they wouldn't let him wear them.

They are a very good boot. Great sizing and no break-in period. A little pricey and the sole could be a little less of a dirt clogger. Great boot overall

Cons; its a little warm and you might be accused of wearing desert tan soccer shoes. Pros; extremely comfortable very supportive, and overall high quality boot. Well worth the money.

i put mine on like a year and a half ago and still wearing them they are great for everything, ive been in sand, mountain terrain, forest, water...they do suck up water but dry out decently quick! they are snug wen u first wear them but they dont hurt and no wear in time...the laces need to be longer..i try n keep mine tucked in the top (oldschool way) but they come out! other than that they r fine! im fixin too buy a second pair for special events!

These boots were recommended by a friend. I can't say enough good things about these boots. Right from day one the boots were extremely comfortable. They did not require a break in period. I wear them 4 days a week at work for 12 hour shifts, sometimes even longer. The quality is second to none. I have had other name brand boots, Oakley, 5.11, Magnum and these are far superior to any of these. I will definitely buy another pair of these boots and would highly recommend them.

I have really flat feet and back pain when I stand for to long, except when I wear these boots. After 12 years of service it has been may favorite as far as sole support and manuverabilty.

I served in the Army not too long ago and would not allow my team to wear these boots they may look nice but are made for cooler climates. Do not wear these boots in hot weather. I ordered a pair and just for the heck of it they wore out in 6 months time. Cheaply made, many flaws including: seams coming apart, tread wearing faster than any other boot i have worn in my entire life, no ventilation as if made for cold weather and when i tried re-lacing them fresh out of the box the cheap laces they provided both snapped the ends off because the holes were too small for the laces they provided! and of course they are made in China. Sorry guys and gals look further than the looks.

Worst boots I ever wore. I wore these boots for a week and they destroyed my ankles. Two months later and I still have to see a massage therapist to get the knots out of my calves and have Achilles tendonitis.

I have been wearing the same issue boots since 2006 when they first fielded the new uniforms. I have low arches so I use inserts and have to be careful with my footwear. Needless to say these boots took a little getting used to- how tight i wear them and whether I used the stock insert and which socks to wear, but now they are great! They are lighter than my issue "jungle style" boots, and look a 1000 times better! my only complaint is with the laces- I'm old school and have always tucked them inside the tops of my boots, these are too short and tend to work their way out. Overall, a fantastic first online footwear experience and choice all the way around!

when i bought these a friend had gotten them and i liked the look i asked if they were good boots he said the wear and tear of them was horrible but the weight and look of them he liked when i got my pair i had them for 2 months and the left boots toe was separating itself from the boot it sucked then my right had happen until i had two big holes in my boots and that was only two month of having them i will never buy this boot again i was very very disapointed in them and dont recommend them to anyone unless you work in the office

I work in a jail so i'm on my feet all day on concrete floors.. comfort a necessity in my line of work and these boots fit the bill perfectly...

I just finish a 25mile ruck march,and i never got a hot spot or blister. these boots were great.

About 15% multicam covering to get you interested...but that's about it. These boots are nothing special and should be priced around $50. I would recommend Blackhawk (or even Bates) boots over these for use and longevity.

WOW what a great pair of boots. From the first moment I put them on they have been comfortable, no break in period required. These boot give excellent support to my feet and look awesome too. These are one of the best pair of boots I have ever owned. These boots give you the support of boots and the comfrt of a well made running shoe

The boot felt a little snug out of the box (which I should have expected). With a small amount of wear it fits just right. Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, as well as walk in. Doesn't hurt my feet at all but could be a little lighter. Overall a good boot and I'm sure I'll grow to like it more over time. Well worth the price.

Boot is extremely comfortable and breathes well. Stationed in NM and have had no trouble with summer heat.

Have had these boots since may and I would have to say that I have never worn a more comfortable tac-combat boot, my feet have never been happier. Any ops in mountainous terrain, sandy, and rocky, these boots can handle what you can throw at them, yes they do hold the heat a bit, but that is a minor issue for me. The only prob I have with these boots, and it goes for ANY suede boot, they don't like water! Hehe, I haven't put these to a long term abuse test yet, I will get back to you when I do.

Bought a pair of Tactical Research boots and found them to be perfect for my day to day duties.

Got a pair for Airborne School. Saved my feet and knees. Great insole with awesome arch support. Highly recommended!

Good Support and Design for the most part, they are a warm boot probably not the best for hot weather since there is no ventilation there is one major flaw in the laces provided, after receiving a pair to test out for my unit trying to relace or even loosen the laces is almost impossible without snapping both laces the plastic end caps pop right off and ended up replacing with smaller store bought laces, so prepare to buy smaller laces upon receiving boots.
