One hundred percent full-grain leather uppers mean completely protected feet. Vibram outsoles, Gore-Tex liners, and Danner craftsmanship mean a completely protected investment. The USA-made Blackhawk II is a solid boot well suited for indoor and outdoor applications. Lined in Gore-Tex for waterproof, breathable protection, its full-grain leather is preferred for its durability and ability to be cleaned and polished quickly. Danner’s famous stitch-down construction means a wider platform for increased stability, and the Vibram 1276 Sierra outsole provides support and traction.

I bought these Danner boots on the recommendation of a friend. I use them for work in law enforcement. They are without doubt the finest pair of boots I have ever owned. Yes they are a little 'pricey' but I feel in the long run you will be very happy with this purchase. The quality and workmanship are unsurpassed. You will notice this the minute you open the box and try them on. I heartily recommend this product.
Not what I expected 8 " is much better for me

I have the 8 " boot & it is very comfortable without the plastic heel insert. I bought this 6 " boot thinking shorter in the summer would be cooler. Put these on & noticed it was really tight,(have same size in 8 ")worn around house & decided to send them back.Too much cash for a maybe it would break in,rubbed me at the very top of the boot,too much slop.
