Best Fanny Pack Ever
Customer Rating
I have looked long and hard for a fanny pack that is not only durable, but will circumnavigate my 6'3" 280lb frame. This pack does both with room to spare. It is a large pack so if you need something lightweight keep looking. This pack is meant to travel. Lots of room and many compartments and features make this the perfect traveling companion for me. It will hold enough to get you through a long day of hiking or sightseeing without the bulk of a full backpack. Loaded with camera gear, phone, meds, sanitizer, wipes and even a few souvenirs, the weight distribution, quality of materials and design make it comfortable to wear. I'm pretty sure this will be the last fanny pack I ever buy!

At 5'11" and 300 lbs this bag still fits me very well! I can carry 4 days worth of camping gear and food. And two liters of water in the accessory water bottle pouches that were purchased separately. The shoulder strap fits well (I recommend getting the shoulder pad as well)and is not to small even for a guy my size. the fabric is bombproof and the stitching looks very solid as well. The only other fanny pack I own is the Mountainsmith "Day" pack because I am very picky when it comes to making purchases and this Maxpedition bag more than meets my expectations as far as versatility and durability goes. I like the various gear pockets. I carry a first aid kit on the front using the Molle loop attachments and the hold is solid. it doesn't pull against my back like a lot of fanny packs out there. the bag is well balanced to wear. It comes in a few different colors so you get to choose which one you like. I would like to see it come in a more urban color as well like dark blue, maybe and an emergency red too. Whether you are going to the zoo with your kids or it's the end of the world this pack is made to handle it.

This lumbar pack is just the right size to carry 3 days worth of food and gear comfortably. My only modification was adding Y support straps which stopped the pack from bouncing as I walked. The construction is as good as the other reviews have stated. It should last me a few years happily. It's my first maxpedition item. I'll definitely look at their other gear to supplement what I have.
Good Quality - needs to be bigger
Customer Rating
This pack is very durable & is made to Maxpedition's high quality standards. I give the workmanship 5 stars.
However, this pack is a little too small to be very useful. Especially if you tuck the waist straps in. When you do this, it pushes into the inner main compartment making the space smaller.
I was wanting to use this as a day/walking pack, but ended up using it as a video camera bag due to the small size. As a bag for my Sony video camera, it works perfect. I bought a shoulder strap so that it could be carried like a duffel bag.
I love Maxpedition's stuff, but I'm rating this 4 stars. If the bag were just a few inches bigger it would be perfect.
Great Pack!

I'll use this bag for traveling and general EDC/emergency "get home bag". I don't like anything that will encourage me to pack more then the things I need. Keep it simple and light and have room to spare with this pack.
The other review said that the zippers were on the wrong side. Nope there just right. This pack opens up like a tray infront of you when you have it one the way it was designed to be worn. So the zippers open the main compartment that way for full access. Also the compression straps that wrap around the front can be reversed and snaped together toward the backside of the pack to clean up the front and the pack looks less like a military pack.
The waist straps can be adjusted to carry the pack across the shoulder like a messenger bag. this is the way i'll be carrying it most of the time.
There are plenty of pockets so that creates some confusion at first as to what compartment your opening. That should be fixed with using the pack and getting to know the ins and outs.
The stitching is great maybe over done but that is a good thing when you need it to hold your gear and not wear out in 6 months. I usually use a bag until i wear it out or break it. The fabric is ultra tough so I think i'll have this bag forever. I'll check in later after I take it on a trip.
