Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger

This pack is worth every penny! It is most perfect for airline carry-on. Fits under the seat in front of you, and is easily carried as you walk through the aisle. Much thought went into the design and there is no wasted space. I highly recommend this well-built and useful pack.

I got my Gearslinger a month or so ago. Have used it on a couple of trips. It's a great bag with just a small issue that I'm solving as I go along. It's the total lack of small pockets that will hold things like cables, batteries, compass, etc. I'm adding smaller molle bags to the outside to manage these items. Other than that, this is a great bag. It's built like a tank so I doubt I'll ever utilize the warranty. It carries just enough while keeping you from overloading into being uncomfortable to carry. Only thing that kept it from being 5 stars is the lack of small outside pockets / spaces

Before you order this bag consider your intended purpose. It is a triangle design (limiting room) and sits rather low on the back (even with the strap tight). I have this bag for work and the gym, so I don't carry a lot of stuff and it weights next to nothing. It is comfortable enough for my purpose but I would not want to carry it with anymore than 20-25 lbs. It is also comfortable enough to wear while I am on my motorcycle.

Extremely well made. Perfect for my needs. I use it as a gym bag. Also, has a perfect spot for my iPad.

Ok, I'm very picky, this pack is excellent, but be aware you should wear it low on the shoulder not high, don't fight the ergo' curve in the strap. usually this pack sits in my car as my emergency pack, but I recently used on on a 2 day turn around business trip. Since this was a 2 day trip the Maxpedition Monsoon was all I took, no checked baggage. It held my MP3, PSP, a few chargers, a change of clothes and toiletries; it's the perfect carry on. Quality is excellent.

After extensive research I finally pulled the trigger on this bag. I didn't like the fact that I couldn't actually physically hold and inspect the product, so it was a bit of a leap of faith. I have not been disappointed! This is a super durable bag that will probably outlast me! It gives qiuck access to gear once you learn how to pack it, and it has plenty of room. Be prepared for the durability of the fabric and the rugged construction to add a bit of weight to the bag. This really suprised me. I will be investigating the add on pouches available for this bag, and it has plenty of areas and attachment points. I'm looking forward to logging many miles with this bag!

I have been using this pack for about 9 months now, first for University and then over the summer for some outdoor adventures. It performs great for both, and still looks brand new. It fits some books and my macbook along with lunch and mac power supply/mouse for school, as well as a host of smaller everyday items. No issues there. Put the cell phone holder on the strap also. It's right there, and I can feel the vibration with the ringer off. As for outdoor use, the Monsoon was ideal for a day trip to summit a mountain. Also hiking, mountain biking and just trekking around. The waist strap is invaluable for these activities. My camelback fit right inside, saving me hauling a Nalgene around. Hook and loop attachments route the camelback hose right to where you want it. Plus I got several interested compliments on the thing's appearance. The concealed carry option is also a bonus. My Sig rides in it's pocket without issue. I got the holster and mag holders and they velcro right in there. The gun does not create an annoying lump that can be felt pressing into your back at all. In all a great purchase. I have since purchased 3 other Maxpedition bags for rangebag use, computer use and camera use.
